Unwinding the springs, you will need the winding bars and the 7/16” wrench. You stand with the ladder facing against the spring so you can prevent accidents. With your wrench loosen the 7716” bolts that are on a side of the spring and start to slowly unwind the spring. The unwinding needs to be repeated for about 30 times. You will know that the spring is loose enough when the cables on the sides of the doors are completely loose. If there is tension on the cables you should never take away the spring you need to give it more turns.
Once it is unwounded you can take it out of the center plate. With the 9/16” wrench you unscrew the 9/16 bolts that are on the center plate. You go up to the drums and loosen the up with the 7/16” wrench because they have to come off if the spring will come out. You shift over the torsion tube and this way you can take of the spring to insert a new one.
